Directions to Greenwoods Conservancy

Greenwoods Conservancy is best accessed from Cooperstown by traveling West on NYS Hwy 28, passing through the small hamlets of Fly Creek and Oaksville, turning left onto NYS Hwy 80 for 4 miles and remaining on Rte 80 when it intersects with Rte 205. Zachow Raod is an improved gravel road on the left side of Rte 80, located in a dip right after one has passed beneath a large powerline. It is approximately 7.0 miles from Cooperstown, NY.

Visitors from Oneonta may wish to travel North on Rte 205 through the town of Hartwick traveling North until Rte 205 intersects with NYS Hwy 80. Turn West (left) on Rte 80, travel 2.1 miles and watch for Zachow Road on your left.

Drivers coming from the West should take Rte 80 from the village of Edmeston to the crossroad with Co. Hwy 16 at the base of a long hill in the tiny hamlet of Burlington Green. There is a blinking caution light at that intersection. Remain straight on Rte 80 for approximately 2.0 miles. Zachow Road will be on the right side at the bottom of a hollow after having passed through a large rockcut on Rte 80. Turn right onto Zachow Road.

The Greenwoods Conservancy buildings are a half mile from Rte 80 located on the left side of Zachow Road. The consist of a renovated 1850 era farmhouse and a brown stained former dairy barn with two large white silos. All guided tours, hikes, classes and events begin at this site.
